Job Description:
This person will perform research, identify emerging capabilities, design effective new workflows/tools, and collaborate across the program working with Government, private sector, and international constituents and partners.
Conduct research, and provide direction based on research, for the development of prototypes and/or enhanced operational cybersecurity procedures
Review multiple data sources, including world events, intelligence, media, and law enforcement reporting, to identify all cybersecurity incidents, threats, and vulnerabilities that could become the basis of attacks
Support the development of performance metrics
Provide support assessments of projected cyber risk; make predictions about threats to federal networks and critical infrastructure sectors, and conduct case studies
Provide assistance to ensure realistic technical considerations are incorporated into initiative planning and execution
Develop and present capability and technology roadmaps
Provide engineering and technical support services such as: studies, systems analyses, testing and evaluation, supplementing operational technical assistance as required
Cyber Security Lead to manage the cyber team and coordinate priorities for Cyber security policies and programs, conduct reviews and assessments, perform defensive Cyber operations, and maintain certification and accreditation.
Perform analyses to validate established security requirements and to recommend additional security requirements and safeguards.
Periodically conducts a review of each system's audits and monitors corrective actions until all actions are closed.
May support cyber metrics development, maintenance and reporting.
Coordinate 24/7 cyber defense operations.
Planning, design and implementation of requisite security control monitoring to include continuous security monitoring elements.
Demonstrated knowledge of different classes of attacks (e.g., passive, active, insider, close-in, distribution, etc.)
Knowledge of different operational threat environments (e.g., first generation [script kiddies], second generation [non-nation state sponsored], and third generation [nation state sponsored])
Knowledge of attack stages (e.g., footprinting and scanning, enumeration, gaining access, escalation of privileges, maintaining access, network exploitation, covering tracks, etc.)
Knowledge of incent response and handling methodologies
Skill in preserving evidence integrity according to standard operating procedures or national standards
Skill in protecting a network against malware
Skill in recognizing and categorizing types of vulnerabilities and associated attacks

 


REQUIREMENTS:
Significant experience DoD Cybersecurity and Information Assurance programs
Specialized Cyber Security experience
CISSP Certification
Undergraduate degree in cyber security, IT, Computer Science, or a related field
Must have DoD security clearance
Ability to work multiple projects concurrently within deadlines while ensuring that complex information is conveyed in a clear, accurate, and concise manner under normal and in crisis situations
Superior verbal and written communication and customer service skills including presenting to senior government officials
Ability to work collaboratively and proactively with customers and program office members in a multi-vendor environment
Skill in recognizing and categorizing types of vulnerabilities and associated attacks
Have working knowledge of threat and vulnerability analysis, routing protocols, routing, intrusion detection systems, intrusion protection systems, Domain Name Service, or network traffic analysis
Demonstrated experience/knowledge of providing incident response and handling using established best practices/methodologies
Demonstrated experience in recognizing and categorizing types of vulnerabilities and associated attacks
Ability to quickly identify and coordinate staffing needs for surge and emergency operations
Experience coaching and leading cyber analysts and/or IT engineers

Security Clearance:
Must have an active DoD issued Security Clearance
